Yes, I Compose!

I was having a dinner stroll with a friend of mine in a Thanksgiving night. He asked me if I wrote songs. This is an extended version of my improvised answer to him.

I have always want to make my own animation film: I want to write the story, design characters, direct, slice clips, compose soundtracks, voice the characters, draw posters, all by myself. This one is supposed to be the background music for a story I wrote.

Empty Valley first appeared as an essay prompt in Chinese College Entrance Exam in 2014. It is considered to be an extremely challenging topic, yet I decided to answer it with music. Later on the music became one of the soundtracks of my secret animated film.

I rearranged the original song (composed by Motohiro Hata) into a duo piano cover.

Iza Ngomso is one of my personal favorite from Christopher Tin, so I used Magic Piano on my iPhone to recreate his masterpiece.

I was inspired by an orchestra version of the Undertale game soundtrack.
